Supply of critically important equipment
The Nadiya youth initiative charitable foundation continues to implement the "Resuscitation at the Frontline" programme. The initiative is carried out with the support of Valeriy Dubily, head of the supervisory board, and under the leadership of Vita Prysiazhnyuk, the foundation's president. The main goal is to ensure medical units have modern equipment for saving the wounded.
Recently, about ten Easy Pulse devices were handed over for the evacuation vehicles and stabilisation points of the 1st Separate Medical Battalion. According to plans, the number of such devices received by the battalion will increase by another 20 units.
Working conditions for medics on the battle line
The 1st Separate Medical Battalion is responsible for medical support of a frontline section approximately 150 kilometres long, where four army corps are deployed. Medical personnel of this unit carry out tasks involving the evacuation of the wounded, performing resuscitation measures, and conducting emergency surgical operations in close proximity to the line of contact, specifically in underground stabilisation points.
The significance of Easy Pulse devices
Valeriy Dubily, who holds the position of First Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Health, emphasised the difficult conditions in which medics have to work:
«В евакуаційному автомобілі та на стабпунктах медики борються за життя пораненого в дуже складних умовах. Їм потрібне обладнання, яке допомагає ефективно проводити реанімацію. Тому продовжуємо забезпечувати їх апаратами Easy Pulse. Це дороге обладнання, але за кожним таким апаратом — шанс врятувати людину й повернути її до родини» (In the evacuation vehicle and at stabilisation points, medics fight for the life of the wounded under very difficult conditions. They need equipment that helps to perform resuscitation effectively. That is why we continue to supply them with Easy Pulse devices. This is expensive equipment, but behind each such device is a chance to save a person and return them to their family), Dubily stated.
The Easy Pulse device automates the process of chest compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This allows for the maintenance of blood circulation in the event of cardiac arrest, which is particularly critical during the transport of the wounded. The use of the device also frees the hands of medical personnel to perform other emergency procedures.
Opinions of military medics
Kateryna "Chery", Head of Medical Supply of the First Medical Battalion, emphasised the importance of such equipment for saving the lives of servicemen:
«Такі апарати дороговартісні, але життя людини — цінніше. І саме Easy Pulse дають цей шанс на життя» (Such devices are expensive, but a person's life is more valuable. And it is precisely the Easy Pulse that gives this chance at life), she stated.
Overall results of the programme
In total, the Nadiya Foundation, with the support of partners, has already handed over 350 Easy Pulse devices to various medical institutions and units. Among the recipients of the equipment are the medical units of the 103rd and 260th Separate Territorial Defence Brigades, the 152nd Brigade, the medical services of units of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, medics of the 475th Separate Assault Regiment "CODE 9.2" and the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. The equipment was also received by the Mechnikov Hospital, military hospitals, frontline hospitals, and other medical structures.
