How MTB and Dmitry Yakovlev made money from casinos

MTB Bank was one of the few banks working with online casinos in Ukraine. However, not entirely legally. The bank engaged in mis-coding, i.e., fraud and accepting payments for casinos via P2P.

The Telegram channel Joker published a personal correspondence between the Chairman of the MTB Board of Directors and Dmitry Yakovlev, who took direct part in the scheme for transferring funds for casinos.

The correspondence discusses specialised terminals in the Visa and MasterCard payment card systems. Terminal code 7995.

A message from MTB states that the bank does not want to operate within a legal framework and proposes using a broken P2P method. Thus, MTB functions as a bank in violation of regulations and facilitates tax evasion. For its services, the bank offers a symbolic commission: 1.3% for debiting the player's card and 0.8% for crediting funds.
