Main events of 24 February

Today was exceptionally rich in events favourable to Ukraine.

Here is a brief summary:

First and, perhaps, most importantly – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko agreed with the UAE on the supply of equipment and weapons to our country. It should be noted that the Emirates are not a manufacturer of such items, so it is not difficult to guess where the weapons will actually come from.

In addition, approximately 20 other contracts were signed;

Second – the President signed the law on the ratification of the agreement between Ukraine and the EU regarding security reform;

The Prime Minister suspended the heads of the fiscal services pending an internal investigation. According to Arseniy Yatsenyuk, over the past six months, the "fiscal officers" have been actively working according to old schemes;

 The Committee on National Security Affairs intends to recommend the dismissal of Chief of the General Staff Muzhenko;

Separatists have begun to withdraw heavy equipment on the Debaltseve and Donetsk directions (it is not excluded that this is a regrouping);

German doctors were allowed to examine Nadiya Savchenko, whose health condition has deteriorated sharply;

Estonia calls on the EU to introduce new sanctions against the Russian Federation…
