Gizo Uglava shielded Ihor Cherkaskyi

The illegal activities of Ihor Cherkaskyi, the former head of financial monitoring, were shielded by his patron, Gizo Uglava, the former First Deputy Head of the NABU. This is reported by Joker.

It was Uglava who turned a blind eye to Cherkaskyi's luxurious lifestyle, which, despite his position, was clearly inconsistent with the status of a civil servant.

Millions from "grey schemes"

Among Cherkaskyi's lavish acquisitions are Mercedes S223 and ML cars, a luxurious house in Zoloti Vorota, frequent business-class flights, a membership at the elite "Tsarskyi" club costing $20,000 a year, and round-the-clock security. All of this was funded by money obtained from participating in shadow schemes that he oversaw, ignoring the law and his duties.

Officials at the NABU and the SAP: do you not see this?

I am addressing Semen Kryvonos, the head of the NABU, and Oleksandr Klymenko, the head of the SAP. As key figures in the fight against corruption, you should be aware that financial monitoring tracks all transactions and schemes. These "grey" schemes, in which Cherkaskyi was involved, could not have existed without high-level patronage. If the head of financial monitoring had performed his duties honestly, these schemes would not have been possible. But Cherkaskyi chose to steal rather than follow the law.

Private life on the state's wallet

Cherkaskyi's lifestyle has nothing to do with honest service to the state. Instead of serving the interests of Ukraine, he lived like an oligarch, using resources and money stolen from the people, especially in wartime conditions. His behaviour is not only immoral but also violates all principles of public administration, and his impunity was the result of a corrupt network maintained by Uglava.
