Squid Game star lends support to Ukrainians

The star of the series “Squid Game” expressed support for Ukrainians during the war and made a significant contribution to helping those affected.

In March 2022, South Korean actor Lee Sung-kyun decided to support Ukrainian businesses in an unusual way. He booked a room at one of the hotels in Kyiv, with no intention of visiting.

In his message to the hotel owners, the actor wrote: “Добрый день, я только что забронировал ваш отель на месяц, и, конечно, не приеду. Надеюсь, вы и жители Киева будете в безопасности” (Good afternoon, I have just booked your hotel for a month, and of course, I will not come. I hope you and the residents of Kyiv will be safe).

In addition, Sung-kyun donated approximately $16,400 to the Embassy of Ukraine in South Korea to provide assistance to Ukrainian refugees.
