Change in personnel supply strategy

Following the appointment of Mykhailo Drapatyi as Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the mechanism for distributing personnel resources was reviewed. According to a source who told the publication, the new leadership abandoned the approaches applied under Serhiy Syrskyi in favour of a more even replenishment of military units.

Previously, the system provided that each regular brigade could receive over 10,000 servicemen per month. In parallel, a separate resource of approximately the same volume was directed to assault units. According to one of the commanders who spoke with journalists, this imbalance was eliminated after the change in leadership.

Reorganisation in assault units

In addition to changing general quotas, significant organisational changes occurred in the structure of assault forces. Reports indicate a temporary halt in the replenishment of assault regiments. Part of their personnel was transferred to other units, while the assault troops themselves were placed under the operational command of corps.

The commanders of the 1st and 475th Assault Battalions, according to the publication's data, appealed to Drapatyi requesting permission to operate more autonomously. However, they were refused. Currently, there is no final decision regarding the future of the assault regiments or the possible formation of a separate command for the Joint Rapid Reaction Forces.

In fact, these steps indicate a review of the model under which assault units, being under the special patronage of the previous commander, received a separate and exceptionally significant personnel resource.
