Ukraine ready for reciprocal steps regarding energy

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an evening video address that Ukraine is ready to refrain from striking Russian energy infrastructure, provided Russia takes similar steps. The head of state emphasised that this requires an agreement from the President of the United States of America.

"Today there is a statement from the President of the United States that an energy ceasefire has been reached. This is good news for everyone; it is important that this becomes part of reality. Ukraine supports all real and reliable formats for a ceasefire and ending the war. Ukraine is ready to refrain from striking Russian energy facilities, and we expect similar readiness from Russia and an agreement from the President of the United States of America on this matter. We welcome such an agreement," Zelensky stressed. ("Today there is a statement from the President of the United States that an energy ceasefire has been reached. Criticism of Moscow's position

The President noted that Ukraine has repeatedly proposed various de-escalation measures but received refusals from the Russian side.

"Putin has said one thing to everything: it was his 'no'. We very much hope that he will finally say something else to America, Ukraine, and the whole world. Something other than killings and deception. Something that will lead to a real and dignified peace. Ukraine wants peace. The question is whether Russia does," the head of state declared. Orders to the Armed Forces

Zelensky added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received all relevant orders regarding compliance with the new conditions. He emphasised that Ukraine continues to defend itself and fight for partner support.

"We are defending Ukraine. We are fighting for support for Ukraine. We support all steps by partners that can help us. We await clear details of the dialogue between America and Russia and expect Putin to fulfil what President Trump said. Thank you to our warriors and to everyone in the world who is with us, with Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine!" the President said. ("We are defending Ukraine. We are fighting for support for Ukraine.
