Pressure as a substitute for effective measures

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed the view that the actions of Donald Trump's administration are aimed at creating pressure on Kyiv due to the inability to influence Volodymyr Putin. In his opinion, it is easier for Washington to shift responsibility for economic indicators to Ukraine than to seek real mechanisms to stop Russian aggression.

«Ці люди (адміністрація Трампа - Ред.) не можуть знайти спосіб зупинити Путіна. Адже зупинити Путіна складніше, ніж тиснути на інших. Простіше говорити про ціни і пов’язувати їх з Україною» ("These people (Trump administration - Ed.) cannot find a way to stop Putin. After all, stopping Putin is harder than pressuring others. It is easier to talk about prices and link them to Ukraine"), Zelensky emphasised.

Conditions for an energy ceasefire

At the same time, the head of state underlined Ukraine's readiness to establish a regime of silence in the energy sector, provided that such an agreement is mutual. He proposed a specific format for a ceasefire, which envisages symmetrical actions by both sides of the conflict.

«Якщо вони хочуть енергетичного перемир'я — ми відкриті для цього. Не атакуйте нас, і ми припинимо атакувати ваше дизельне паливо» ("If they want an energy ceasefire — we are open to it. Do not attack us, and we will stop attacking your diesel fuel"), Zelensky stated.
