Leadership change in investment structure
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to appoint former Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko as representative to the American-Ukrainian Investment Fund for Reconstruction. This organisation is to ensure the operation of the resource agreement concluded between Ukraine and the United States of America.
The relevant government decree is dated 23 October. According to the document, Svyrydenko will replace former Deputy Minister of Economy Yehor Perylyhin in the position. The document lists her as Vice-Rector for Business Education Development at the Kyiv School of Economics.
Prior discussions on candidacy
Even before the official appointment, media reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky was allegedly considering offering Svyrydenko the position of Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA. However, she declined the offer.
The prospect of her appointment as head of Naftogaz was also discussed. However, according to a source, the company's head Serhiy Koretsky opposed such a candidacy.
