Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei emphasised that the hostile stance of the United States towards Tehran will remain unchanged, regardless of which political force assumes power in Washington, as well as any possible concessions from the Iranian side. These statements were made on 4 November.

Comment on US election results

Khamenei's remarks were a reaction to the Republican Party's defeat in the US midterm elections. In his words, those who expect a softening of American policy towards Iran due to domestic political changes in the US are "deeply mistaken" (глибоко помиляються).

Threats regarding new aggression

The Iranian leader also warned that in the event of new aggression from Washington, Tehran would deliver a larger-scale response. Khamenei stressed that the destruction of US military bases in the region and the establishment of control over the Strait of Hormuz were part of Iran's campaign against "American hegemony" (американської гегемонії).
