One killed, two injured in Russian drone strike on Kharkiv

Attack on the Osnovyansky district

On 28 October, during the day, Russian armed forces carried out a strike on Kharkiv. This was reported by the city’s mayor, Ihor Terekhov, who noted that the enemy had hit the Osnovyansky district. The official published information about the drone attack at 12:54, later adding that a fire had started at the impact site.

Timeline of events and consequences

The situation developed rapidly. By 13:00, the mayor of Kharkiv had reported initial data on casualties. As of 13:11, it was known that one person had been injured by the strike. However, at 13:17, Terekhov released information about a fatality:

«Також надходить інформація про одного загиблого», – зазначив він. (He stated: "Information is also coming in about one fatality.")

A few minutes later, at 13:23, the number of injured rose to two. In his final statement, the mayor confirmed the losses:

«Підтверджена інформація про одну загиблу людину, ще двоє постраждали», – йдеться у повідомленні. (The statement reads: "Information has been confirmed about one person killed, and two others injured.")

In addition to the human losses, a fire broke out at the drone impact site, which Terekhov mentioned shortly after his initial report of the attack.
