Stabbing attack in Warsaw: victim hospitalised, attacker at large

Incident in the capital's centre

On 22 October, at approximately 12:00, an attack on a pedestrian occurred in the central part of Warsaw. The aggressor attacked the victim using a knife. The attacker operated near Nowogrodzka Street, behind the Novotel hotel building.

Victim's condition and law enforcement actions

The man sustained serious injuries and was urgently hospitalised. The perpetrator fled the scene and is currently being sought by the police.

According to RMF FM, citing witnesses, the attacker was a black man. Other details of the incident are currently being established.

An investigative and operational group and forensic experts are working at the scene. The area has been cordoned off, and law enforcement officers are collecting evidence, establishing the circumstances of the incident, and attempting to detain the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
