Bus stop stripped of glass panels

Municipal services in Kyiv’s Lukianka district have removed the glass panels from a public transport stop. The structure currently consists only of a metal frame, without protective panels.

This stop had previously been the subject of criticism due to its glass design. A profane inscription addressed to Mayor Vitali Klitschko also appeared on the surface itself.

Why the glass was removed

Following the removal of the glass, the stop has effectively lost its previous form. This move has already provoked irony in society: the structure can no longer be a cause for criticism regarding its design, and the opportunity to write offensive words on the glass has disappeared.

Meanwhile, it is officially unknown why the decision was made to remove the glass. Whether this was a direct reaction to acts of vandalism or another decision regarding the structure is difficult to determine from available reports.
