Units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces carried out a series of strikes on key military infrastructure of Russian occupiers on 6 October and during the night of 7 October. The targets were located both in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and within the Russian Federation.

Strike on aviation hub in Bryansk region

The key target of the operation was the Sessa airfield in Russia's Bryansk region. According to the Ukrainian side, the facility was hit, although the exact extent of the damage is currently being assessed.

In parallel with the strike on the airfield, an enemy electronic warfare station was hit in the area of the settlement of Hrynovo (Bryansk region). A radar station was also struck near Elianka.

UAV infrastructure damaged

Defenders paid particular attention to facilities supporting the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by enemy forces. In the Donetsk area, a site for the storage, preparation and launch of strike UAVs was hit.

Additional strikes were delivered to drone control points in the areas of Bilotserkivka and Kamianka in Zaporizhzhia region.

Destruction of command posts and depots

In Donetsk region, the Defence Forces struck a command post in the area of Hirnyk. Two more Russian military command and observation posts were hit in the areas of Ukrainska and Kurakhivka.

In the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region, Ukrainian defenders struck a depot of material and technical resources of a Russian unit in the area of Krynychne. A depot of enemy fuel and lubricants was also hit in the area of Kondriuchye.

Thus, aviation, electronic and radar reconnaissance, unmanned systems, and command and support facilities of Russian forces came under fire. The Ukrainian Defence Forces emphasised that Ukrainian military continue to strike enemy military facilities.
