New publications draw attention to assets in Kyiv Oblast

Information has appeared online regarding the history of the circulation of real estate in the city of Kozyn, which is linked to the family of Serhiy Stanik, a judge at the Northern Court of Appeal of the Commercial Court. The main focus of attention has been on possible schemes for evading sanctions restrictions and the transfer of ownership rights to the object to a citizen of the Russian Federation.

Professional background: from the Constitutional Court to the appellate court

Serhiy Stanik holds the position of judge at the Northern Court of Appeal of the Commercial Court. His mother, Suzanna Stanik, has significant legal experience: from 2004 to 2010, she served as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. In addition, Suzanna Stanik held the position of Deputy Minister of Justice and represented the interests of Ukraine in international legal bodies. Her dismissal from her position at the Constitutional Court in 2007 caused a loud public resonance at the time.

Ownership history on the lake shore

It is known that until February 2016, Suzanna Stanik was the owner of a house and a land plot located in the centre of Kozyn on the shore of a lake. According to published information, this property was subsequently sold to Roman Gilfanov, a Russian citizen.

Suspicions of sanctions evasion

The authors of the investigation claim that during the period of sanctions restrictions, ownership rights to the specified object passed to Gilfanov's wife, Anna Arsenicheva, who is also a Russian citizen. According to the publication, this re-registration took place within the framework of a marital property division procedure. These circumstances have raised questions about possible sanctions evasion, the need to verify the origin of the property, and the correspondence between the declared assets and their actual use.

Context of previous findings

Previously, investigators had already drawn attention to the asset declarations of Serhiy Stanik. Thus, in his 2024 declaration, the judge noted only the presence of an apartment and parking spaces. Meanwhile, a house worth 7 million US dollars had previously been discovered in Kozyn, which was likely not declared.
