Russian FSB reports discovery of explosive devices in FPV goggles

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has released information stating that, in its view, Ukraine attempted to organise a terrorist act among Russian military personnel. According to the security service's version, servicemen were handed FPV goggles for controlling unmanned aerial vehicles that had been booby-trapped, under the pretext of providing humanitarian aid.

Circumstances of the device discovery

According to the official FSB statement, unidentified individuals offered assistance to one of the servicemen by handing him the relevant goggles. However, the man did not use them immediately but decided to submit the device for examination by the security service. The statement notes that the serviceman was aware that this specific model of equipment could potentially be used to carry out sabotage.

Examination results

FSB experts, having conducted an investigation, claim that explosive mechanisms were installed inside the goggles' housing instead of the standard cooling fans.

It is worth noting that the information provided is based exclusively on the statement by the Russian security service. There is currently no independent confirmation of Ukraine's involvement in the events described in the report.
