First delivery under new agreements

Following an agreement reached by the presidents of Russia and the US, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, a tanker loaded with 40,000 tonnes of Russian diesel fuel set sail for New York. This event marked the first concrete step in implementing the fuel contract between the two countries.

Transport details

According to data from financial analytics company LSEG, cited by Reuters, the vessel is operating under the flag of Malta. The dispatch of this cargo confirms that the agreements between Moscow and Washington are moving into the stage of practical implementation.

Lifting export restrictions

As part of the reached agreement, Russia agreed to lift its own restrictions on diesel fuel exports. This decision aims to increase the supply of products on the global market, including through deliveries to the United States of America.
