A developer created a service for producing fake documents using AI
The OnlyFake service offered users fake passports and driving licences that could be used to pass Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures. The cost of a single document was approximately $15, while bulk orders cost around $1,500.
During the platform's several years of operation, more than 10,000 fake documents were created with its help. According to available data, the service's revenue reached $1.2 million.
The project's founder, Yuri Nazarenko, initially produced documents manually using Photoshop on an old computer. Creating a single image could take up to a week. Later, he implemented artificial intelligence tools and automated the process.
Among the service's users, it is reported, were citizens of the DPRK working in the IT sector. The activities of OnlyFake attracted the attention of the UN and the FBI.
According to published information, Nazarenko transferred the profits to a personal Binance account registered under his real name.
In 2025, the developer was detained based on a US warrant. The court later sentenced him to one year in prison. Currently, Nazarenko lives in Asia and is developing the TapMap startup.
