Change of leadership in the relocated institution

On 29 October, the staff of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, which is currently functioning in Kropyvnytskyi, met the new head. Oleksandr Yunin took the post of rector. This was reported by representatives of the Kirovohrad Regional Council.

Background: dismissal of the previous head

Previously, the university was headed by Serhiy Vitvitskyi. He was dismissed from his post on 9 October 2026. Vitvitskyi himself, in a conversation with a journalist from the publication "Dostup. Media", explained that the reasons for his departure were career growth and a move to work in Kyiv. After Vitvitskyi's dismissal, the performance of the rector's duties was temporarily entrusted to Vice-Rector Serhiy Hermanov.

Professional experience of the new rector

Before his appointment to the new post, Oleksandr Yunin held the position of vice-rector of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs. According to data from his 2025 declaration, his salary in this position was 1 million 85 thousand hryvnia. In addition, he declared income received from the National Police in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, as well as from scientific activities at the Donetsk University of Internal Affairs.

Asset indicators in the declaration

The document submitted by the new rector notes the presence of an apartment with an area of 77.8 square metres in Dnipro. This property belongs to Oleksandr Yunin's son, but the rector himself and his wife have the right to reside in and use it. The declaration also states that the new head's wife is the owner of a 2016 Mazda 3, which is also used by Oleksandr Yunin. In cash form, the rector holds 2 million 700 thousand hryvnia.
