Solidarity with Ukraine after infrastructure attack

French President Emmanuel Macron publicly expressed condolences and solidarity with the head of state Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the entire Ukrainian society. This reaction was a response to the enemy attack aimed at the railway station in Dnipro.

The French leader published the relevant statement in his account on the social network X.

Criticism of Moscow's escalation strategy

According to Macron, such actions by the enemy are proof that the international community must intensify its efforts to end the armed conflict unleashed by Russia against Ukraine.

«У цьому контексті ми маємо прагнути до значно більшого, ніж локальне припинення вогню, як було в Олешках. Неможливо терпіти, щоб Росія продовжувала відмовляти у всіх пропозиціях у цьому напрямку та продовжувала робити ставку на ескалацію й вражати в цивільних» ("In this context, we must aim for much more than a local ceasefire, as was the case in Oleshky. It is unacceptable to allow Russia to continue rejecting all proposals in this direction and to continue betting on escalation and striking civilians"), the French president emphasised.

Call to intensify diplomatic pressure

Emmanuel Macron stressed that the current situation requires the international community to double its efforts. The main goal of these efforts must be to force Russia to sit at the negotiating table.
