Polish regions sever ties with Lviv

The Lublin Voivodeship has officially terminated the partnership agreement with Lviv. This initiative is a reaction to a decision by the local city council, which voted to dedicate 2027 to the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and Roman Shukhevych.

According to Radio Lublin, the decision was made at a meeting where 30 deputies present unanimously supported the idea of terminating the agreement. The inter-regional cooperation document was signed back in 2004.

Voivodeship Marshal's position

Yaroslav Stawiarz, the Marshal of the Lublin Voivodeship, emphasised that the region will not cooperate with those who "прославляє злочинців" (glorify criminals).

Przemyśl suspends partnership

The Polish city of Przemyśl has taken similar steps. Local deputies also unanimously supported the decision to suspend partnership relations with Lviv, citing the same reasons as in the case of the Lublin Voivodeship.
