Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made a series of sharp statements during a conversation with the editors-in-chief of African media outlets. He asserted that the information confrontation between the West and Moscow will not only continue but is likely to intensify.

Accusations of sabotage in Africa

The minister paid particular attention to the situation in Africa. Lavrov directly accused a number of Western states, including France, of involving Ukrainian military personnel in the organisation of terrorist acts and sabotage on the territory of Mali. According to him, these actions are carried out with Western support and are aimed at complicating relations between Russia and African countries. It is worth noting that the accusations made by the minister were not accompanied by any evidence.

Criticism of European policy

Commenting on internal processes in Europe, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the protests taking place in Paris and other European capitals demonstrate how European reality corresponds to the image of a "blooming garden".

Lavrov called the leaders of European countries who continue to support Kyiv against the backdrop of their own internal problems "political masochists".

Contacts with Scandinavian leaders and deal with the US

The Russian minister also commented on Vladimir Putin's contacts with the heads of Finland and Norway. According to Lavrov, these leaders apparently did not tell the Russian president anything new.

In addition, he described the agreement between Russia and the US regarding diesel fuel as a purely business deal that does not involve any additional conditions.

Cooperation with Nigeria

Lavrov emphasised the importance of Nigeria as one of Russia's key partners in the African region. He reported that the Nigerian Foreign Minister would visit Moscow in the near future.
