History of the "Ghost of Kyiv" unit

The 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade "Ghost of Kyiv" became one of the key units involved in defending the Ukrainian sky since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The brigade's name is a symbol of the courage and professionalism of Ukrainian aviators who defended the sky over the capital from the first hours of the war.

The composite image of the "Ghost of Kyiv" is based on the heroic actions of a MiG-29 pilot who shot down six Russian aircraft in the first 30 hours of the war, including Su-35s, Su-25s, Su-27s and a MiG-29.
