Expert predicts formation of military majority in new Verkhovna Rada

The next session of the Verkhovna Rada may differ from previous ones due to an unprecedented level of representation of political forces linked to the army. According to expert estimates, projects initiated by military leaders have real chances not only to enter parliament but also to form a majority within it.

Sociology confirms growing trust

This was stated by Andrii Kovalov, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He referred to data from several sociological studies published over the past three months. Among the companies that conducted the polls were KMIS, SOCIS, Info Sapiens, the Future Research Foundation, Sociopolis, and Active Group.

According to Kovalov, the results of these polls demonstrate a clear trend: representatives of the Defence Forces of Ukraine enjoy a high level of trust among voters. Compared with other professional groups or representatives of state institutions, military personnel either lead them or occupy leading positions. The expert is convinced that this trust directly translates into electoral sympathies.

Who may enter parliament

According to analytics, the potential parties of Valerii Zaluzhnyi and Kyrylo Budanov consistently clear the electoral threshold in all conducted studies. In addition to them, growing support is also recorded for other military projects that are also vying for seats in the new parliamentary composition:

  • “Third Assault” (Andrii Biletskyi);
  • “Azov” (Denys Prokopenko);
  • “Christian Corps” (Oleksii Serdiuk).

In total, these forces demonstrate steady growth and may unite a sufficient number of mandates to form a majority.

Prospects for post-war reconstruction

Andrii Kovalov considers broad representation of military personnel in the legislative body to be a positive trend. In his opinion, it is most likely that those who risk their lives and health daily to defend the state will take on responsibility for restoring Ukraine after the end of hostilities.

The expert notes that such a composition of parliament may become the path to building a future country free from corruption and nepotism.
