Corruption is growing in Ukraine

According to a survey conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), the majority of Ukrainians and business representatives believe that the level of corruption increased significantly in 2024.

Specifically, 69.1% of the citizens surveyed reported an increase in corruption, with 35.6% of them believing that the situation has deteriorated radically. A similar view is shared by 57% of entrepreneurs.

These figures are the most negative in the past four years. Compared to 2023, the share of those who noted an increase in corruption rose substantially — from 61.2% among citizens and 46.3% among the business sector.

Notably, in the first year of the war, views were less critical: 45.8% of the population believed that the level of corruption remained unchanged, while 39.4% of business representatives even recorded an improvement.

At present, Ukrainians cite corruption as the second most significant problem in the country, after the war.
