Tax officer attacked in Dnipro

In Dnipro in the central part of the city on Furmanova Street, unknown individuals attacked a tax police officer, beating him with a heavy object, reportedly a hammer.

The regional Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported this.

После этого они сели в автомобиль ВАЗ и с места преступления скрылись в сторону памятника Славы" (Two unknown men, appearing to be 35–40 years old and dressed in dark clothing, inflicted physical injuries on a tax police officer using an object resembling a hammer. According to law enforcement officials, the perpetrators did not intend to rob the victim. A motive of personal enmity is being considered.

The victim was hospitalised in the intensive care unit of the nearby Mechnikov Hospital, where medical staff are fighting to save his life.

An investigation is underway, and a search for the criminals is ongoing.
