Switzerland promises not to arrest Putin

We have previously reported that Switzerland proposed hosting a meeting between Putin and Trump on its territory.

However, Switzerland would be obliged to detain Russian President Vladimir Putin in accordance with the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court in 2023 in the case of the forced deportation of Ukrainian children.

Nevertheless, a representative of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Nikolay Bido, emphasised that the Swiss government body has the right to make an exception for the conduct of peace negotiations.
