US withdraws from UN Human Rights Council

According to a report by Politico, the US has decided to withdraw from the UN Human Rights Council and cease funding UNRWA (the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East). This move is part of the broader foreign policy strategy of the Trump administration.

In addition, the US President has prepared several other key initiatives:

• The possibility of introducing a 10% tariff on goods from the European Union is being considered.
• Trump appointed Steve Witkoff as special representative for Russia and Ukraine and pledged to make efforts to end the war.
• On the issue of Iran, Trump stated that he does not support joint operations with Israel but is ready to provide Tel Aviv with all necessary resources for independent action.
• The President, who previously criticised the agency USAID, plans to merge it with the State Department and reduce its staff.
• Secretary of State Rubio announced his appointment as acting director of USAID.
• Trump announced a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping within the next 24 hours.
