Why people spend money on games

According to research, many modern people not only play games on computers and smartphones but also invest money in them, sometimes in quite large amounts. In "gamer" terminology, this is called "donating". Users spend funds on obtaining characters, equipment, level progression, wars, clans, and so on.

Some people approach this with understanding. Others are outraged, asking why money should be spent on such things. Understanding those who invest is often only possible for someone who themselves does not spare expenses on games.

Such players often form clubs. In this case, it is important to choose the right group.  A weak organisation is a waste of money and a ruined mood. It will not be possible to reach the top of the game in such a company.

What donating provides

Injecting money into a game gives the user certain advantages:

·         Career. Investing funds in characters or equipment allows for much faster growth in the game. Thus, the user can defeat opponents, obtain rare artefacts necessary for rebirth or the creation of rare weapons, and so on.

·         Ambitions. Few people want to lag at the bottom of the leaderboard. It is pleasant for a person to grow not only in their regular job but also in a game. This flatters the ego and improves the mood.

·         Financial gain. Yes, by investing money in a game, a person can subsequently make a profit from it. A developed account with good characters and equipment can always be sold at a profit. Accounts that are in the top of the game are sold for thousands of dollars. Moreover, there are usually no difficulties with the sale. There is always someone ready to purchase a developed account.

However, it is not necessary to invest huge sums. Often, insignificant amounts are sufficient, which will not seriously impact the budget. The main thing is to invest wisely. Luck also plays a certain role. Sometimes items and characters drop randomly in the game. Therefore, even major "donors" often do not have the heroes that randomly drop for those who have invested insignificant amounts.
