Russia hit by massive drone attack overnight

Krasnodar Krai was targeted in the large-scale assault, with drones flying over Novorossiysk and Anapa. Explosions were heard in Voronezh and Kursk regions, while in Kotovsk, located in Tambov region, drones struck two apartment buildings.

Powerful explosions also occurred in annexed Crimea, particularly in the ports of Sevastopol. Witnesses report that hundreds of drones were in the sky, and many of them reached their targets. As a result of the incident, the Crimean Bridge was closed for more than three hours.

The "Kovyor" plan was introduced at Kazan, Nizhnekamsk and Ulyanovsk airports, leading to delays in departures and arrivals.

The Russian Defence Ministry stated that 85 drones were shot down over the country's territory in the night of 11 January.
