Anatoliy Voytsekhovsky extradited to Ukraine

Ukrainian law enforcement secured the extradition of developer Anatoliy Voytsekhovsky, who had evaded justice for many years. On 18 March, he was handed over to Ukraine following his detention in Spain.

42 illegal construction projects and thousands of defrauded investors

Voytsekhovsky gained notoriety through the activities of his company "Ukogrup", which built 42 residential complexes in Kyiv without the necessary permits since 2004. Apartments in these buildings were sold at prices 30-40% below market rates; however, residents faced serious issues — the buildings were not commissioned, and owners were left without property rights or proper utilities.

The developer successfully operated under several mayors of Kyiv — Oleksandr Omelchenko, Leonid Chernovets, Oleksandr Popov, and Vitali Klitschko. He was detained twice, but each time he was released on bail and disappeared.

Following his extradition, Voytsekhovsky was placed in a pre-trial detention centre. He faces up to 12 years in prison with the confiscation of property.
