9 in 10 people are infected with the tuberculosis bacillus

Most people do not even suspect that they are already carriers of the tuberculosis bacillus. According to doctor Vasily Knyazevich, up to 90% of the population is infected. 

However, infection does not always lead to the development of the disease – it occurs when the immune system is weakened and there is significant contact with the bacteria.

The main routes of transmission are:

• Inhaling bacteria while in contact with an infected person;

• Contact with contaminated surfaces;

• Weakening of the immune system.

The main thing is not to panic

The doctor emphasised that tuberculosis is a curable disease. With timely diagnosis and proper treatment, the disease is fully amenable to therapy. The main thing is to undergo regular check-ups and take care of your health.
