Assessment of funding prospects

Volodymyr Zelensky shared his impressions from negotiations with European Council President António Costa. The head of state stated that during the discussion on allocating an additional €70 billion to Ukraine for 2027, he "felt positivity".

However, the President emphasised that it is too early to make a final assessment of the situation, as no final agreement has yet been reached. Meanwhile, the parties discussed joint actions.

«Поки рано казати, тому що має бути рішення, але ми проговорили наші спільні дії, - заявив президент» (It is too early to say, because there must be a decision, but we discussed our joint actions, the President stated).

Need for funds for 2027

Zelensky underlined that these funds are necessary for Ukraine as a supplement to the already announced €45 billion in support from the European Union.

According to the head of state, the sum of €70 billion was named by the military and the Cabinet of Ministers. This figure reflects the country's real financial needs for the next year regardless of circumstances.

«70 мільярдів – це те, що сказали наші військові та наш Кабмін, це те, скільки нам дійсно потрібно на 2027 рік у будь-якому випадку, - пояснив він» (€70 billion is what our military and our Cabinet of Ministers said, it is how much we really need for 2027 in any case, he explained).
