President comments on aftermath of attack in Kharkiv region

Volodymyr Zelensky released a reaction to the Russian strike carried out using a Shahed-type drone on a park in the Kharkiv region. According to him, six people were killed in the shelling, including an infant just over one year old and an 11-year-old girl. Another 14 people were injured, six of whom were children.

Details of the tragedy

The head of state described the horrific consequences of the attack in detail, calling it an "absolute act of savagery".

«Жахливий російський удар на Харківщині. "Шахед" ударив фактично просто по людях – по парку поблизу звичайного кафе. Абсолютне звірство. Шість людей загинули, і серед них діти. Дівчинка вбита у візочку. Її звали Ангеліна, їй було трохи більше року, вона народилась у серпні 2025 року… Її маму звали Інна, вона померла у лікарні… Іншій убитій дівчинці було 11 років. Мої співчуття рідним та близьким. Ще 14 людей поранені, і серед них ще шестеро дітей» ("A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. The 'Shahed' hit essentially just people – a park near an ordinary cafe. Absolute savagery. Six people were killed, and among them were children. A girl was killed in a stroller. Her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, she was born in August 2025... Her mother's name was Inna, she died in the hospital... The other killed girl was 11 years old. My condolences to relatives and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, and among them were six more children"), the president stated.

Appeal to international partners

Volodymyr Zelensky thanked partners for their support of Ukraine and emphasised the need to strengthen air defence systems. He called for continued assistance and urged not to lift sanctions on Russia while killings continue.

Separately, the president appealed to the US to apply the Lindsey Graham Act, and to Europe with a call to continue supporting Ukraine. "The world has enough power to stop the war," he concluded.
