Warsaw is working on a new legal instrument that will change the procedure for responding to security threats. The Polish Ministry of Defence is developing a bill that provides for the possibility of placing the country in a state of full defence readiness in advance of the official introduction of a state of war.
What the document provides for
According to the draft, Polish authorities will receive the authority to pre-position both their own and allied military units. The bill also provides for the preparation of necessary infrastructure and the acceleration of the procedure for placing the armed forces in a state of full combat readiness.
Development status
Currently, the bill is at the stage of approval within the Polish Ministry of Defence. The specific parameters of the document, as well as the deadlines for its adoption by legislators, have not yet been determined.
