Scandal erupts in Poland over song featuring Ukrainian dialect

A scandal has erupted in Poland over a song featuring a Ukrainian dialect, presented at the national selection for Eurovision 2025, although the track has still gained popularity.

The cause of the dispute is that the artists used a rare regional dialect — the Podlaski speech, which is part of the Ukrainian language — to create the song.

 Some online users claim that it is one of the Polish dialects, while others, representing Підляшшя (Podlaskie region), refute these claims, emphasising that no one in that territory uses such a form of speech.
