Comment from the head of state's adviser
Dmytro Lytvyn, the President of Ukraine's adviser on communications, commented on the status of the investigation into the criminal case known as 'Carthage'. According to him, the current case materials do not record any facts of bribes being transferred to Health Minister Viktor Lyashko and former Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
Lytvyn voiced this position while speaking with journalists.
What sources indicate
(Regarding Lyashko and Klymenko, sources say that no facts of bribery have been established. According to them, the case materials (referring to the 'Carthage' case - ed.) and the published videos only show that the participants in the conversations were considering whether to offer money. However, the materials do not indicate that an actual offer was ever made. Amendments to the resolution banning the circulation of the relevant substance were eventually adopted), Lytvyn noted.
Appeal to the public
The President's adviser urged the public to refrain from hasty conclusions. He advised waiting until the full scope of the case materials is presented in court before drawing any conclusions regarding the individuals mentioned.
