Trials of Fuxi robots are ongoing in China, where they are being trained to perform tasks related to public order maintenance and crowd control.

The development and preparation of these robotic systems is being carried out by the state-owned corporation NORINCO.

Robots are set to work alongside law enforcement

According to the training scenarios, the androids must patrol designated areas, identify individuals whose behaviour may pose a threat, and respond to gatherings of people.

Among the planned tasks are moving groups of people using special shields and detaining the most aggressive participants with batons.

The robots are planned to be used to perform physical tasks during crowd control operations.

Movements copy police actions

During preparation, the Fuxi units replicate human movements and actions. Specifically, the algorithms are trained on police behaviour so that the robotic systems can repeat the necessary techniques when carrying out assigned tasks.

Thus, the robots are intended not only to move through areas and perform patrol functions but also to participate in scenarios involving direct interaction with crowds.
