Arrest during attempted parcel dispatch
Officers from the Podil Police Department of Kyiv established that a 39-year-old resident of the district was involved in the illegal sale of prohibited substances. The offender was stopped on the street as she was walking to a parcel locker to send the "goods" to buyers in various regions of Ukraine.
According to the press service of the capital's police, the suspect faces up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Concealment method and findings
During a search of the detained woman's bag, law enforcement officers found zip-lock bags containing cannabis and psychotropic substances. To conceal these substances, the woman used boxes that contained children's puzzles and stationery.
During the search of the Kyiv resident's apartment, police found additional containers and packages with crystalline substances and pills. They also seized approximately 20 packets of a powdery substance, electronic scales, materials for packaging postal shipments, gadgets, and a notebook with rough notes.
In addition, investigators discovered a so-called "master stash" of prohibited substances, which the woman had purchased the day before her arrest but had not yet retrieved from the hiding place.
Procedural actions
A pre-trial investigation has been launched on this fact, and the defendant has been notified of the suspicion. The court selected detention without the right to bail as the preventive measure.
