Deployment of security forces

Mass demonstrations by citizens protesting the rising cost of goods and services, as well as the general deterioration of living standards, are taking place in France again. To ensure public order across the country, authorities have mobilised 70,000 police and gendarmerie officers.

Participants and their estimates

Representatives of trade union organisations, student groups, and activists from the "yellow vests" movement joined the rallies and marches. Estimates of the number of participants vary significantly depending on the source.

According to trade unions, approximately 250,000 people took part in the protest actions. Meanwhile, the French Ministry of the Interior reported a lower figure of 146,000 participants.
