Sibiha: Russia has grown brazen in rejecting Trump's peace proposals

Response to Russian minister's statement

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sibiha commented on the remarks by the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov. According to Lavrov, a ceasefire for the purpose of holding presidential elections in Ukraine will not take place.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Russia is rejecting peace. Sibiha emphasised that this position is known to everyone, but the frankness with which the Russians are rejecting President Donald Trump's proposals indicates their brazenness.

Position on pressure on Moscow

The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that pressure on Russia must not be eased. In his words, it is precisely the easing of pressure that leads to increased brazenness on the part of the adversary.

«Саме так стається, коли тиск слабшає: що менше тиску, то більше нахабства» (This is exactly what happens when pressure weakens: the less pressure, the more brazenness), Sibiha added.
