Parimatch operates in Russia and launders money
It was revealed yesterday that sanctions have been introduced against a number of companies, including the bookmaker Parimatch.
A few hours later, company representatives publicly stated that they had been slandered and that they had actually long since left the Russian market. However, this is not the case. The company continues to operate. All it has done is change its signboard and design. It is now simply called Pari.
In Ukraine, players used the site pm.ua, which holds the corresponding licence.
At the same time, the company continued to advertise its services under the brand Parimatch. Users were offered to register on a mirror site. As a result, funds were transferred to an offshore zone. Players did not even suspect the deception or that the site was operating without a Ukrainian licence.
Moreover, the licence in Ukraine was obtained only recently. Players who had registered before this point were not even transferred to the Ukrainian platform. They remained on the site registered in an offshore jurisdiction. In other words, taxes on these funds were simply not paid into the Ukrainian budget.
In App Store, an app is provided for players' convenience. However, it also operates without a licence and is associated with the site parimatch1.com. This information can easily be found in the App Store itself.
Advertising on search platforms also directs users to two sites, one of which is offshore. Moreover, it is this site that Ukrainians see first on the page.
If the company could successfully take funds from players and move them to a tax-free zone for a long time, it is now facing difficulties with refunds. According to representatives of Parimatch, the firm is looking for a way to pay out all funds to users. However, no deadlines are given
