Reaction of Finnish leadership to energy agreement
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo expressed his position on the agreement reached between Russia and the United States of America regarding the supply of diesel fuel. In an interview with Finnish broadcaster Yle, the head of government called the deal a "terrible disappointment" (terrible disappointment).
Assessment of market prospects
Despite his critical stance on the fact of the contract being signed, Orpo noted that its actual impact may be minimal. According to him, the agreed volume of diesel fuel constitutes only a small fraction of total consumption in the US.
In addition, the politician emphasised that it remains unclear whether the planned supplies can be realised at all.
Forecast for the global market
"I do not think that in the end it will have a significant impact on the United States or the global market," (I do not think that in the end it will have a significant impact on the United States or the global market) said the Prime Minister of Finland, doubting that the deal would significantly affect the American market or global prices.
