Attack on the British government

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke sharply about the actions of the British cabinet in an interview with the Daily Mail. The politician directed accusations at London for appeasing Islamist and leftist circles, calling the country a "pariah state".

«Щоб догодити своїй політичній базі, британський уряд зірвався з ланцюга і повів себе як держава-ізгой» ("In order to please its political base, the British government has broken loose and behaved like a pariah state"), — заявив прем’єр-міністр.

Internal pressure and a paradoxical alliance

According to Netanyahu, British rulers are acting under the weight of internal pressure. He is convinced that London is trying to «умиротворити різні ісламістські сили» ("appease various Islamist forces").

The Israeli leader also referred to the existence of an «ісламістсько-лівого альянсу» ("Islamist-leftist alliance"). In his view, these two camps should essentially be rivals, but in Britain they have united.

Maintaining ally status

Despite the sharp deterioration in bilateral relations, Israel still regards the United Kingdom as an ally, Netanyahu noted.
