Ukraine's Defence Ministry approves Blade drone interceptor for military supply

Official approval of the counter-UAV system

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has completed the codification procedure for the Blade drone interceptor, developed by Phantom Defense. This step is of fundamental importance for the defence sector: the device officially transitions from the stage of research and development and testing to a status of readiness for supply to the Defence Forces.

Technical specifications and capabilities of the device

Blade is designed for the kinetic interception of fixed-wing drones. The main operational parameters of the system are as follows:

• Maximum flight speed reaches 310 km/h.
• Operational range is up to 30 km.
• Payload capacity — up to 0.5 kg.

The design features a vertical take-off and landing system, which allows the drone to be launched from unprepared areas without the need for runways. To ensure round-the-clock operation, the device is equipped with both day and thermal imaging cameras.

Kit contents and control

The complex includes a ground control station. It is responsible for transmitting telemetry data, video streams, and direct flight control. The operator works with an automated workstation in a case format, which has an autonomous operating time of four hours or more.

Place in the integrated defence system

Blade is not an isolated tool but is part of a comprehensive counter-drone threat system from Phantom Defense. This platform integrates detection means, electronic warfare complexes, kinetic interceptors, and a situational awareness system for combat management.

Phantom Defense, the developer of these technologies, informs that the company's products are already being used in combat conditions on the territory of Ukraine. It is also reported that the Blade interceptor will soon become available for order on the Brave1 Market platform.
