German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed concern that European countries do not fully assess Russia's influence on the internal life of their societies. In his words, Moscow is moving towards destabilising the political order across the entire European continent.
Warning about the threat to stability
The head of the German government emphasised that it is precisely the underestimation of this factor that is the source of his greatest anxiety. “Моє найбільше занепокоєння викликає недооцінка впливу Росії на наші суспільства. Росія рухається до дестабілізації всього політичного устрою нашого європейського континенту” (My greatest concern is the underestimation of Russia's influence on our societies. Russia is moving towards destabilising the entire political order of our European continent), Merz stressed.
This statement underscores the position of the German leadership, which draws attention to the risks to the political stability of European countries associated with Russian influence.
