Knauf builds new plant in Ukraine

Knauf has begun construction of a new plant for the production of drywall and dry building mixes in Ukraine. The facility will be located in Borshchiv, Ternopil Oblast. 

The company’s main gypsum quarry in Ukraine is also located in this city, with reserves sufficient to sustain operations for at least 20 years.

The project envisages production capacity of 30 million square metres of drywall and 320,000 tonnes of dry mixes annually. Total investment in the project will amount to €150 million. This plant will become Knauf’s second facility in Ukraine.

Recall that the first plant Knauf was located in Soledar, Donetsk Oblast. It was destroyed as a result of military actions. However, the company decided not to withdraw from the Ukrainian market and to build a new plant away from the combat zone.
