Houthis advance to within 80 km of Aden: threat to Yemeni government's administrative centre

Houthi militants have reached their closest point to Aden since spring 2015, when they briefly occupied the city before being driven out. The distance between them and the administrative centre of the Yemeni government is now approximately 80 kilometres.

According to Reuters, the current offensive by the militants in the south of the country has allowed them to get closer to Aden than at any time since spring 2015.
