iPhone can now automatically connect to Starlink

According to Bloomberg, Apple has introduced a new feature that allows iPhones to automatically connect to the Starlink network. This capability is available to owners of iPhone 14 and newer models, starting with the iOS 18.3 update.

The new feature is already available to users served by certain US mobile network operators.

One of the main advantages of this feature is that users no longer need to hold their iPhones outdoors in search of a signal. The device connects to Starlink automatically, requiring no additional effort.

SpaceX, for its part, plans to expand satellite connectivity for mobile devices worldwide, although the exact timeline for the start of global deployment has not yet been disclosed.
