Financial support for those restoring infrastructure

The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to provide additional state aid to workers involved in restoring critical infrastructure facilities following Russian attacks. According to the adopted document, specialists will receive 30,000 hryvnias for each month of participation in restoration works.

Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced this. The programme will be in effect from November until the end of the heating season.

Who is eligible for compensation

Payments are provided for a wide range of specialists who ensure the operation of vital systems. This category includes:

  • workers in the energy sector;
  • specialists in heat supply and gas infrastructure;
  • workers in water supply and sewage companies;
  • personnel of municipal services;
  • railway workers.

Scale of destruction and threats

According to Serhiy Koretskyi, the enemy attacks critical infrastructure facilities daily, using 300–400 unmanned aerial vehicles. Missile strikes are also carried out regularly, including the use of ballistic missiles.

Since the beginning of August, more than 2,000 hits on infrastructure have been recorded. The government representative emphasised the complexity of the situation:

«Руйнуються лінії електропередачі та відкриті елементи мережі, що суттєво ускладнює ситуацію. Відновлювати їх доводиться знову і знову, в обсягах, у рази більших, ніж за всі попередні роки», — йдеться в заяві. (Power transmission lines and open elements of the network are being destroyed, which significantly complicates the situation. They have to be restored again and again, in volumes several times greater than in all previous years), the statement reads.
